Cats have a controversial history with regards to essential oil use. The fact of the matter is that they have a different liver metabolism pathway than dogs and metabolise essential oils differently. As they have the potential to metabolise essential oils (and drugs for that matter) slower, we recommend caution when exposing them to essential oils, especially without direct supervision of a veterinarian experienced in aromatherapy. Our Soothe + Calm range contains only the purest of essential oils which are safe to use on cats, however, with conservative caution we recommend only exposing them every second day and monitoring their response. We aim to produce cat specific blends in future so stay tuned.
